Staying Rooted While Moving ~
I have been reminding myself of something lately; I chose this life. I chose to leave what was; the trauma; the abuse; and to start again. To live as I would like to live.
A small life; a tiny footprint; no weight of property; no constant maintenance pulling at me. I chose movement; travel; living lightly; making space for what matters. I am not someone who settles easily; I never have been. I like to move, to see, to experience.
And yet; even in that knowing; I can feel myself drifting. Work, obligations, expectations; they all begin to stack. Slowly, quietly, until I feel heavier than I intended to be. So I am coming back to center.
Not by changing everything, but by remembering my original dream. To live tiny, to travel across this country and into Canada, to wake up in new places, to stay connected to nature, to stay connected to God’s call on my life.
An article from Psychology Today explains that staying aligned with personal values is what creates a sense of meaning and direction, even when life feels overwhelming.
Roots do not mean staying still. Roots mean knowing where you draw your strength. I can move; and still be grounded. I can travel; and still stay true. That is the life I am choosing again.
